Corby Access Control Systems support the use of Magnetic Stripe, Wiegand and Code 39 Bar Code card technologies which require a card to be either "swiped" or "inserted" into the reader. Choose from the various card styles available including photo ID, graphics quality and keyfobs. These Systems also support Proximity readers which sense the presence of a valid card when it is within range (3"- 30" depending on the reader) and allows access to a door.

A Reader Interface Module (RIM) is necessary (System 4/5/10 only) to convert the card reader data into a format the Access System can understand. The RIM powers the card reader and converts the output into a BCD data format. A RIM is needed when using Bar Code, Magnetic Stripe, Proximity and Wiegand card technologies. Its miniature design allows it to be installed inside the Systems cabinet. Each reader requires the use of a separate RIM. Note: If multiple readers are connected to one RIM these readers will act and report as one.
